There are still moments in business that catch you completely off guard. Getting a call from The Land was one of them.
As a small family-run business built between farm jobs, school runs, late nights and cups of tea gone cold, I never imagined Rustic Ridge would end up in a newspaper that so many people across rural Australia know and trust.
To be honest, I nearly thought someone was pulling my leg.

What started as an idea around creating clothing that actually suited rural life has slowly grown into something much bigger than I ever expected. Not because we had a huge business plan or investors behind us. Just real people backing what we do, sharing our products with their mates, and showing up for us over and over again.
Being featured in The Land felt like one of those moments where you stop for a second and think, “Far out… this little idea is really going somewhere.”
The article shared the story behind Rustic Ridge and how the brand came to life after years of frustration with clothing that simply didn’t hold up on the farm. From ripped shorts to uncomfortable fits, I knew there had to be a better option for country people who needed clothing that could actually keep up with real life. (The Land)
What meant the most wasn’t just the exposure. It was the opportunity to tell our story properly.
The long harvest days.
The muddy boots at the back door.
The kids running around while trying to pack orders.
The juggling act that comes with building a business while raising a family and helping run a farm.
That’s the part people don’t always see online.
Rustic Ridge has never been about chasing trends or pretending to be something we’re not. It’s always been about creating pieces that feel good, last properly, and fit into the lifestyle many of us already live every day.
So seeing our story shared in such a respected rural publication felt incredibly special.
I’m genuinely grateful to everyone who has supported Rustic Ridge so far. Every order, every comment, every share, every person who has stopped by our stall at an event, it all plays a part in helping a small business like ours keep growing.
And a big thank you to the team at The Land for giving us the opportunity and taking the time to share our story.
Safe to say… younger me ripping through farm shorts probably wouldn’t have seen this one coming.
